It starts out light blue on the top, indicating the surface of water where things are clear and visible. The further down one goes, the less light there is. The tone of blue gets deeper and deeper, disappearing into a murky, pitch black, and still there is more distance to go. There are parts of our earth we will never see because no equipment made on the surface can withstand the weight and pressure of water thousands of miles down below. Water is a mysterious and fascinating element. It has carved mountains and swallowed giants. Sometimes it’s not enough to see with our eyes. We have to move through this world feeling through the dark and moving with the currents.
